For developers

Is this AI or real people?

Both. A real creator makes every video. AI writes the brief, and applicant scoring and update emails run automatically.

Can creators use AI?

Yes, any tools: a phone, AI editing, generated scenes or voice, whatever works. You review a preview of every video before you approve it. AI-generated people must be labelled as AI and are never passed off as real customers.

How much of my time does this take?

Paste a link, glance at the brief, pick a creator, approve the video. We email you when someone applies, so you don't have to check in.

Can I hire more than one creator for a job?

Yes, up to 20. Say how many when you post (you can change it while the job is open). Each creator gets their own offer, payment, deadline and chat, and the job page tracks every one of them separately, so you can see at a glance who needs you. Once that many have signed, the job closes itself and open offers to everyone else are withdrawn. Want more later? Reopen it from the job page or My jobs.

Can I stop new applications for a while?

Yes. Pause applications on the job or in My jobs, and resume whenever you like. Creators who already applied can still be messaged and hired.

Who sets the price?

You set a bounty or take offers, then you and the creator agree on the final terms with an offer in the chat: price per video, number of videos, deadline and revisions. Posting is free; when you sign an offer we hold the agreed amount plus a 5% platform fee on your card, charge it once you've both signed, and Stripe keeps it until you approve the work. If the offer is declined or expires, the hold is released.

What if I don't like the video?

You review a watermarked preview first and can ask for changes: one revision is included, or pick 3 or unlimited when you agree on the offer. Ask within 30 days of the first delivery, for changes within the brief. After 2 rounds, either of you can ask us to mediate. Your payment is held securely by Stripe and only goes to the creator when you approve. If the video isn't what was agreed, report a problem and we'll review it, which can mean a refund. The details are on the Payments page.

Can I tip the creator?

Yes, once you've approved the work. Pick $5, $10, $20 or $50, or any amount from $1 to $1,000. All of it goes to the creator; we pay the card fee. Their review shows that you tipped, never how much.

Who owns the videos?

Once you approve the work, you get a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to run them organically and as paid ads on any platform, Spark Ads and whitelisting included, at no extra cost. The creator keeps the copyright and can show the work in their portfolio. See the content license.

Do you only do apps?

Yes. Mobile apps, SaaS and web tools. Creators download your app or open your site; if it needs a paid login, send a test account.

Is there an API?

Read-only and free: GET /api/jobs returns open jobs as JSON, /jobs/feed.xml is the same board as RSS, and GET /api/brief?url=… returns an AI brief as text, markdown or JSON.

For creators

When and how do I get paid?

The developer's card is held when they sign the offer and charged the moment you've both signed, so the job is paid for before you start. Stripe holds the money until they approve your work (or 7 days after you deliver, if they don't respond). Then your share goes out the way you chose in Money: with Stripe it goes out the day they approve and is usually in your bank in about 2 business days; with PayPal, Wise, Venmo or Zelle we send it by hand within 5 business days. Tips go to you in full.

How much does Appcrush take?

10% of the agreed amount. On a $200 job you get $180, less any currency conversion fee your bank charges. A fee-free credit from an invite waives the cut on one job.

Can I charge for extra revisions?

Yes. One revision is always included. When you apply, set what 3 revisions and unlimited revisions cost on top of your price: 15% and 35% by default, anywhere from 0% to 100%, or switch either off. Whoever sends the offer picks the option, and you can change the price in any offer you send. The add-on is part of your pay (our 10% cut applies). Revisions stay within the original brief and must be asked for within 30 days of your first delivery.

Do I need to send tax forms?

Usually not. If you're in the US and your payouts from us this calendar year, tips included, reach $1,500, we'll ask you to fill in a short online W-9, nothing to upload. We file a 1099-NEC once you reach $2,000 in a year. Outside the US you may be asked for an online W-8BEN instead. You're an independent contractor, so the tax on what you earn is yours to handle.

How long does profile review take?

Usually within 48 hours. If we can't approve your profile, we'll tell you why so you can fix it and resubmit.

What rights does the developer get?

Once they approve your work, they can use your video organically and in paid ads on any platform, including Spark Ads, for as long as they like. You keep the copyright and can show it in your portfolio. Before that they only see a watermarked preview.

What if the developer goes quiet or rejects my video?

The money is already held by Stripe before you start. If the developer doesn't respond within 7 days of your delivery, it's approved automatically and you're paid (for hires that include a post on your own channel, once that post is confirmed). If you disagree about the work, either of you can report a problem and we decide fairly from the brief, the chat and the video. Questions? Email hi@appcrush.app.

Can AI write my application?

It can draft it. On any open job, Draft my pitch writes a first-person pitch from the brief and your profile. Edit it before you send: developers can tell when nobody read the brief.
